Description

This subject offers students both a theoretical and practical approach to audiovisual languages.

Starting from the premise that we live immersed in an ecosystem of images and cultural products, that we are the result of relating to everything we have seen, heard and read, and that our creations constantly dialogue with what precedes us and with past and present agents, in this subject the student will examine and experiment with creative practices that generate meaning from pre-existing materials and formats, shaking the traditional distinctions between production and consumption.

The subject works with references from postmodern and contemporary art, analyzing the impact that digital technologies have had on these post-productive practices. The student will develop a critical and reflective outlook on audiovisual languages, acquiring tools to understand and experiment with the dynamics of reusing, appropriating, recontextualizing and reassigning meaning to visual and sound materials.
