Library
The Library of BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona is one of the most important services to support teaching, research and investigation, as well as future professionals in the fields of design and fine arts. The service is open to the entire BAU community, researchers and specialists in the sector.
Its mission is to manage information resources, facilitate access and carry out the spreading of information, as well as collaboration with the processes of knowledge creation and to contribute to the objectives of the institution. Since its foundation the aim has been to create a plural library that encourages self-directed learning, curiosity, accuracy and creativity.
The Library, consorted with the documentation Centres of the Museu del Disseny and MACBA, among others, has a collection of over 10.000 documents specialized in the fields of graphic design, space design, fashion, art, media and photography, as well as other areas such as cultural anthropology, economics, history and iconography.
It also includes over 30 subscriptions to national and international specialized magazines.

Bibliographic advising
The Library of BAU offers bibliographic advising for guidance and information about our library resources in projective and research fields in the different areas of study taught at BAU Design College.
Purchasing and subscriptions
The Library of BAU is responsible for the purchase, subscription and hiring of all information resources requested by the university community of BAU.
All members of BAU may request and suggest the purchase of bibliographic resources in person. The decision to purchase requested archives will depend on the Procurement Policy of the library and the availability of the budget.
New acquisitions will be available on the website of the library.
Book lending
This service enables users to use the documentary collection outside of the library. The loan of documents is for personal use and the user has to show a BAU university card or copy of their proof of registration.
A maximum of two items items by category may be checked out and kept for one week, renewable up to three times.
Reservations
With this service you can reserve items that are loaned to other users. Reservations can be made at the information desk.
Renewals
You can renew items you have on loan up to a maximum of three times and if they have not been requested by another user.
