Student support

BAU Arts and Design College of Barcelona offers its students a variety of services in order to help them in their academic/university life. In addition to the University Center's own services (Academic Management Unit, Secretary's Office, Student Services, Library etc.), the following services, among others, stand out:

University card

As a BAU student you will have a university card which is valid until the end of your studies. This card gives you access to the BAU library lending service, discounts at museums, exhibitions, etc.

Classrooms with free access

BAU is open from 8:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Friday. As a BAU student you will be able to use the classrooms, computer rooms, workshops, sets, laboratories, and all other facilities during the open hours of the Center, giving you the opportunity to take advantage of and enjoy the work spaces and contact with colleagues.

Supervised open workshops

BAU offers you the following tutored workshops to support the development of your work:

Transition materials laboratory
Photography and audio lab
Fashion atelier
Knitting and knitting lab
Silk-screen printing studio
Typography lab
Maker lab
Editing and publishing lab

The guided open labs have limited places, so we ask you to reserve your place before using them.

Each space has its own rules of use and access that you should consult when you have to use them.

Work and study spaces

Students can use work spaces where teaching is not taking place. These spaces are equipped with computers as well as support material to develop students’ projects.

Audiovisual material lending service

BAU offers the students access to the audiovisual material lending service which is managed by staff who can provide advice at all times on appropriate materials for the development of students' projects.

Open Saturdays

One Saturday per month, students can make use of all the facilities to finish developing their projects. These facilities will be also open every Saturday during the final submission period of each semester.

The Cub

The Cub is a space for the sale of work material as well as large format reprographics.

BAU Bar

BAU has a Bar/Cafeteria in concession of a private company that offers a catering and cafeteria service. It also has a microwave for the exclusive use of students and members of the PDI (Teaching and Research Staff) and PAS (Administration and Services Staff) of BAU.
