Description
This subject proposes a thorough analysis of the various trends in the history of clothing, from its beginnings to the end of the nineteenth century. In each period, we will study not only the characteristics of the clothing, but also the historical, social and ideological context, with the aim to understand why certain trends emerge. Furthermore, we will examine the impact of each trend in modern times, with the aim of allowing the students to use this historical knowledge as a valuable tool during their creative process.
Using the history of fashion as a highly useful element during the creative process by observing the main trends that form it, from prehistory to the 19th century, to understand the social, cultural, historical and philosophical context of each moment, also understanding the reasons behind why different styles of dress are adopted. Adapting the elements that make up the fashion of the past to the tastes, trends and current needs.
