Description

This subject, which is part of the Languages, Techniques and Technologies subject, is a fundamentally practical workshop and experimentation space. As in all the subjects of this subject, the knowledge of materials and their behaviours, and the learning of different techniques and technologies, on the one hand, is related to, on the other, the emergence of language and the aesthetic and communicative of artistic practice. Since this subject is a continuation of 4D, Languages, Techniques and Technologies, it continues to operate under the umbrella of the 4D denomination, that is, time-based practices are explored, including audio-visual, sound work and practical performative. The particularity of this subject is that it introduces the notion of installation as a backbone, understanding it both in relation to the physical space, as well as delving into the various contemporary or historical frames of reference that make up the context of an artistic project.

Subject objectives

The subject proposes a space for inquiry around audio-visual, sound and performative artistic practices, the various genealogies, languages, codes and subjects. A critical approach is sought in their work processes, action, production, registration and communication. Emphasis is placed on addressing the contextual both in terms of physical location and perceptual articulation and in relation to the artistic frames of reference and the different cultural and social ecosystems in which an artistic project is inscribed.
