Presentation

Packaging: Innovation and sustainability (in collaboration with Batllegroup) offers an immersion in the innovative and sustainable aspects of packaging design and development.

Students will explore cutting-edge packaging technologies, sustainable materials, and design principles aimed at reducing the impact of packaging on the environment.

The course is aimed at those with a passion for the intersection of design, innovation, and environmental sustainability in the packaging industry.

This course is part of the program in Branding & packaging: fusing strategy, innovation and sustainability (in collaboration with Batllegroup). Students can combine classes in this course with Branding: Strategy and purpose.

Objectives

  • Analyse current trends in container design and their impact on the packaging industry.
  • Understand the fundamental principles of sustainable design and their application in the development of environmentallyfriendly packaging.
  • Assess the importance of innovation in materials and technologies for the creation of more efficient and environmentallyfriendly packaging.
  • Identify and assess various sustainable materials used in packaging design, considering their viability and applicability.
  • Develop packaging design skills, with a focus on waste reduction and the optimisation of resources.
  • Explore minimalist and functional packaging strategies to improve sustainability and efficiency in product packaging.
  • Apply ecological design principles in the creation of packaging that contributes to the circular economy and resource conservation.
  • Analyse case studies of leading brands in the successful implementation of sustainable packaging strategies.
  • Prepare to face challenges and take advantage of future opportunities in the packaging industry, anticipating trends and demand in the market.
