Rosa Tharrats Oliva
Multidisciplinary artist and costume designer
Academic training and qualifications
- Graduate in Fashion Design from the European Design Institute (IED), Barcelona.
Professional activity and/or experience
Rosa Tharrats' work is as multidisciplinary as it is unclassifiable. A visual artist and design, she sees fabrics as a form of expression. With Tharrats’ talents, fabrics can be transformed into suggestive, decadent costumes for cinema, ephemeral installations that cover trees or rocks, catwalk collections, or even a tribute to Joseph Beuys made from recycled denim.
A regular collaborator of some of the best artists in the country, she has worked with Donna Huanca, Jordi Colomer, and Gabriel Ventura. Her collaboration with the film director Albert Serra has led her to win the Gaudí Award for Best Costume Design twice: once for "Historia de mi Muerte" and once for "La Muerte de Luis XIV". She also designed the costumes for the director of Banyoles' first play, which premiered in Berlin.
- Master in Stage Design and Art Direction
