Activity and/or professional career

With a double degree, Berta Julià Sala has fueled her passion for design by working in studios across Europe. Before setting up base in Barcelona, she was part of design agency LAYER in London and later settled as Design Manager at Form Us With Love in Stockholm, where she honed her strategic, brand and product design skills. Returning to Barcelona in 2018, she was part of the beginnings of the recycled materials company HONEXT, as Brand Manager she participated in the launch and activation of the new brand within the architecture sector.

Berta is a strategic designer, without fear of the exchange between science and humanities, with extensive knowledge of circular economy practices, manifested in several projects for clients such as IKEA (Swedish multinational dedicated to furniture) and BAUX (Swedish company dedicated to coverings. acoustic). She acted as Account Manager for IKEA in her years at Form Us With Love, when the Odger chair and the Kungsbacka kitchen were designed, both made of recycled material. During the beginnings of BAUX, Berta acted first as a designer and then as a Project Manager.

Understanding design as a tool for change, Berta collaborates with people and companies to create products with low environmental impact. She has knowledge ranging from management and marketing to industrial design and communication. Today she works in her new company Alted Materials, and also as a teacher in various training centers in Barcelona.
