Mònica Mestanza

Graduated in Publicity and PR from the UAB. 

Graduated in Publicity and PR from the UAB. Graphic designer. Mònica furthered her studies at Columbia University and the Visual School of Arts in NY. PhD in Typography from the UB. She has professional experience working for graphic design studios (Zoptic, Mesa de Diseño y Suma) and advertising agencies (Grey Advertising Inc. and Atrium Sponsoring) in both Barcelona and NY. Since 1997 she has owned and worked as the Art Director at mm!, a graphic design and visual communication studio that develops projects on corporate visual identity, editorial design, graphics in spaces, audiovisual and web design as well as communication campaigns. Since 1997, she has combined running the studio with teaching Graphic Design and Art Direction.

PhD in Architecture (UPC). Architecture graduate from the ETSAB, UPC. Coordinator of the Technical Department at BAU. Postgraduate Degree in Restoring and Rehabilitation of the Architectural heritage (UPC). Coordinator of the line of research concerned with Teaching innovation in/and by means of design (GREDITS).

Architecture graduate from the ETSAB (UPC). Mariona has developed many projects concerned with the design, rehabilitation and restoration of spaces that have been published in a variety of media and by a number of public administrations like the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Local Architectural Heritage Service of the Barcelona Provincial Council.

Israel Frutos Bonache

Israel Frutos Bonache

Fashion designer and creative director specialising in the streetwear and luxury sectors. He is currently the creative director of the brand 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi and works as a creative and designer at 24 Kilates Barcelona, carrying out projects for brands like New Balance, Asics, Reebok, Saucony, le coq Sportif, Diadora or Patta.

He co-founded the women’s brand Cardona Bonache, which was on the catwalk in 4 editions of the 080 Barcelona fashion show, where it won the best collection award in 2009. Prior to that, he created a stage in Antwerp for the brand Christian Wijnants and collaborated with other brands like A Cut Above, Rocksmith and Kilogoods.

Designer for several commercial brands (Trucco, Divinas Palabras, Elisa Amann), technical advisor, window dresser and stylist. He was Sales Director at Josep Font in Spain for 6 years. He occasionally DJs at local events and is a fashion show music editor for clients like Josep Font, Desigual and TCN. He coordinates the Fashion Department of the Higher Education Diploma in Design, and the External Apprenticeships from the Bachelor’s Degree in Design at the BAU College of Design.

David Torrents

David Torrents

Graduate from Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam) and the Fine Arts college of the UB.

David Torrents (Barcelona, 1971) is a multidisciplinary designer with experience working on commercial and non-commercial projects which are typically closely linked to the arts. He graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Fine Arts college of the University of Barcelona, and also studied at the Elisava school. Before starting his own studio in 2002, he worked in Amsterdam, Budapest and various studios and agencies based in Barcelona. He is a lecturer at design universities in Barcelona, and also delivers workshops and talks at festivals and universities. David has been invited to join international awards juries, and has also received over 50 awards, including the Grand Laus and the Golden Bee.

Cecília Gorriz

Graphic, multimedia and audiovisual designer. Online/Offline Communication advisor.

Graduate in Audiovisual Design. Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and Digital Publications. Educated in graphic, digital and audiovisual design, and also strategic communication. She develops and coordinates online/offline projects. Lecturer with 7 years’ experience teaching in design schools around Barcelona.

Pau Vidal

Pau Vidal

Graduated in Architecture from the ESAB and the École Nacional Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles.

In 2003 Pau began developing his own work for different associations. His work has been published and exhibited at a number of events, such as the Venice Biennale or the Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio, and has received several awards and commendations, including the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona 2011 d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme. He is currently a lecturer on the Degree Final Project at the BAU, Design College of Barcelona.

Nacido en Pamplona en 1979. Inició su carrera junto a ruiz+company desarrollando proyectos de Dirección creativa, Dirección de Arte y Diseño. En 2006 crea su propio estudio especializado en comunicación y espacio público.

Profesor desde 2006 en BAU Centre Universitari de Disseny en el área de proyectos y proyecto final de grado en Diseño Gráfico. Co-Creador de la www.festadelgrafisme.com en Portbou, un evento transdisciplinar que pone el foco en las personas y el diseño desde una visión lúdica y una condición transfronteriza.

Presentación

La asignatura tiene como objetivo la realización de una memoria de investigación y un proyecto de diseño.
El Trabajo de Fin de Grado es un compendio de la formación adquirida en el transcurso de la enseñanza recibida durante el Grado, y debe permitir al estudiante mostrar el nivel de adquisición de las competencias de la titulación y de los principios que fundamentarán su futura labor profesional.

Resultados del Aprendizaje

  • Realiza un proyecto de diseño con calidad profesional.
  • Realiza una memoria de investigación documental bien argumentada sobre el aspecto central del trabajo.
  • Realiza un dosier de desarrollo de las fases de elaboración del proyecto explicativo.
  • Presenta un plan de viabilidad o producción real ajustado al proyecto.
  • Realiza un book profesional de presentación del proyecto.

Contenidos

Investigación documental:

  • Proyecto de investigación que incluye la revisión de la literatura, construcción del marco teórico, hipótesis, parte empírica (si cabe), discusión, resultados y conclusiones.

Proyecto de diseño:

  • Diseño i/o implementación de un proyecto en un ámbito profesional.

Presentación y defensa del Proyecto:

  • Defensa del Proyecto en público ante un tribunal.


Metodología

  • Tutorías para analizar y orientar el proceso de trabajo.
  • Sesiones de trabajo con formación específica.


Evaluación

La evaluación del TFG es individual. En este sentido, cada estudiante tendrá una nota; en caso de que el TGF se haga en grupo, la nota será también individual, y se especificará cuál ha sido la responsabilidad de cada una de las partes en el proyecto.

Se evaluarán tanto la presentación del trabajo formal (proyecto e investigación) como la defensa en público ante el tribunal.

Se proporcionará una bibliografía específica y adecuada a la investigación propia del Trabajo Final de Grado de cada estudiante.
