Laura Subirats
Digital Artist
Laura Subirats (Barcelona, 1995) is a computational artist who explores the intersection between 3D printing, virtual objects and the pervasive influence of the Internet in our lives. With an approach that combines non-objectual design and digital collection, her work reflects on accumulation, obsolescence and the blurred boundary between the physical and the virtual. Inspired by the concept of digital Diogenes, she creates performative archives that challenge traditional archival practices, proposing a poetic and critical reading of our material ecosystem.
Selected for the long stay residency at Hangar and recently a PhD student at BAU, College of Arts and Design of Barcelona, combines academic research with an artistic practice. She co-founded Digo Digital (2019-2023), a creative studio specialising in 3D animation, where she has collaborated on projects for brands such as Loewe, Kenzo or Paloma Wool, and has participated in cultural events such as Mira Festival or exhibitions at Arebyte Gallery.
