Activity and/or other professional career

Postdoctoral researcher Margarita Salas in the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has been a teacher at the University of Barcelona and at the Escola Universitaria Elisava. She is part of the Research Group in Social Economic Ethics and Epistemology of the Social Sciences (UB) and the Center d'Estudis sobre Dictadures i Democràcies (UAB). She has translated into Spanish works by prestigious foreign authors such as Guy Standing or Alex Gourevitch. She is co-director of the postgraduate course "Analysis of Contemporary Capitalism" at the University of Barcelona.

Research

Her lines of research are historiography, the history of political thought, political philosophy and social theory. He has focused particularly on the recovery of the history of the republican-socialist tradition and the work of the British intellectual Edward Palmer Thompson. She has recently researched the concept of property and alternative institutional designs to capitalist forms of property.

Publications

Her works have been published in various academic journals such as Historia Social, Theoria. A Journal of Social and Political Theory, Daimon. International Journal of Philosophy or Res Pública. Journal of the History of Political Ideas. She has collaborated in various media and political magazines such as El Crític, Eines, Catarsi Magazine, On Cuba News, CTXT, Nous Horitzons or Sin Permiso (of which she is part of the Editorial Committee).

Awards

First Prize for the best thesis in Economic Sociology from the Spanish Federation of Sociology.
