Activity and/or other professional career

Senior Scientist of the Department of Language, Literature and Anthropology of the CSIC, a position he accessed in 2020 in a specific position of climate anthropology, where he today co-directs the research project "Energy Humanities". Between 2016 and 2019 he worked as Technical Director of the Environment of the city of Móstoles and in 2020 he served as parliamentary advisor to Más Madrid in the Madrid Assembly. In parallel, he has taught philosophy at the University of Zaragoza, anthropology at the Autonomous University of Madrid and has been a member of the faculty of the Independent Studies Program of the MACBA in Barcelona in the 2017-2018 edition. Founding member of the Instituto de Transición Rompe el Círculo collective, with which he has put into practice popular education methodologies and research processes and transformative territorial intervention from social movements.

Research

His field of work is the social, cultural and political dimensions of the ecological crisis and the transition processes that seek to respond to it. More specifically, in recent years he has focused his activity on several different, although complementary, lines of research, such as the unexpected role of energy in contemporary critical theory, the ecological appropriation of the notion of hegemony, generational conflicts in key climate or the new cultural imaginaries of sustainability.
