Postgraduate degree in digital editions

New technologies and digital media have led users to adopt new reading patterns. This situation affects both the creative concept and process, as well as the production and dissemination of content (App). This postgraduate course will demonstrate how to create digital content without programming; content which will transform reading into an immersive experience with significant graphic, audiovisual and interactive potential.

Presentation

The publications transforme and evolve intto a new digital dimension that requires rethinking concepts and learning new working methods. Now more than ever, it is important for design studios, advertising agencies, illustrators, publishing sectors, creatives in general, journalists and writers to make this transition to new technologies (Apps) for tablets and smartphones. Without the need for programming, these technologies offer the advantage of self-publishing content but do not necessitate the use of traditional channels or large investments. In this sense, we need solid training to adapt to the digital environment and respond to market demands in this new era of visual communication.

Objectives

  • Analyze the evolution and transformation of media throughout the transition to digital formats.
  • Study the new formats of digital communication, new concepts of reading and design.
  • Train professionals on new digital technologies to facilitate the self-publishing of their projects.
  • DeeProduce a digital content project in an app format from start to finish: conceptualisation, market research, user analysis, competitors, design, interaction, production, dissemination, positioning in the App Store and Google Play, and promotion.
  • Know the interactivity and movement, new challenge for the creative designer.
  • Study the new ways and formats of marketing and distribution. Cloud.
  • Know the most advanced and professional programs in digital publishing.
  • Know the new system of visual communication and challenge in advertising. Control target and attraction of advertisers through tablets.

Syllabus

This postgraduate course is organised in 10 modules and is completed upon handing in the Final Project which will require every student to produce an interactive digital publication (App) containing real and entirely professional content that is ready to be submitted to the App Store and Google Play. 

Throughout the course, some professional will make presentations on relevant topics that will reinforce the content of some of the modules.

Payment methods

BAU, Design College of Barcelona offers different terms of payment:

  • Single payment: attracts a 3% discount
  • Part payment, in three installments:
    • 1st payment consisting of 40 % of the fees on enrollment
    • 2nd payment consisting of 30% of the fees before November 5th
    • 3rd payment consisting of 30 % of the fees before January 5th

Former students of BAU benefit from 10% discount on any of the courses. A former student of BAU is a student who, not being registered in the current academic year, has exceeded 50% of the credits for a Degree, Higher Degree in Design or the BAU Nit (BAU Evening); or 100% of the credits for any of the Master’s or Postgraduate degrees.
