Presentation
The Master in Graphic Communication Design prepares students for the dynamic field of contemporary graphic design and visual communication. The programme contents adopt a digital perspective, emphasizing creativity and communication concepts based on persuasive messages. Through projects from real clients and case studies, students gain hands-on experience, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.
The curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills and mindset necessary for moving forward in the fast-evolving world of graphic communication. The master generates a space for research, experimentation, innovation and entrepreneurship, with a significant number of workshops conducted by different professionals.
The program is aimed at graduates in visual arts, creativity, design, photography, illustration, advertising and communication, with graphic design software skills, and a portfolio related to graphic design and visual communication.

Module 1 - Design Culture and Fundamentals
This module introduces students to the historical foundations of visual communication and graphic design, exploring the evolution of design principles, typography and image composition. Building on this historical base, it delves into the fundamentals of communication, emphasizing how design elements are used to convey meaning effectively.

Module 2 - Digital Tools and Creative Processes
This module engages students with industry-standard tools, focusing on digital illustration, photo editing and vector-based design using the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and others software (Figma and emerging AI tools).

Module 3 - Strategic Branding and Visual Identity
Focuses on brand creation and management, covering essential branding concepts, UX/UI design principles and aligning brand identity with strategic goals. Students learn to build brands with cohesive narratives and user-centered experiences.

Module 4 - Design Project Methodology
Provides hands-on experience in executing real-client projects, applying design methodologies (such as human-centered design, design thinking and prototyping) and working directly with client briefs. Module 5 - Communication, Strategy and Professional Collaboration

Emphasis is placed on branding, advertising, storytelling and creative problem-solving, providing students with insights into industry standards and challenges.

Module 6 - Master’s Final Project
The Master’s Final Project (TFM) is a deeply personal, self-immersive design project that allows students to express all the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program.
Each student selects a specific emotion or personal theme that resonates with them and uses it as the foundation to create a real or speculative brand. While the project is personally relevant, it must be fully developed to meet professional standards, incorporating strategic thinking, design methodologies and suitable communication techniques. The outcome will reflect the student's unique creative vision while. demonstrating their mastery of branding, graphic design and visual storytelling.

Pre-enrolment and Admission
To apply for a master’s or postgraduate program at BAU, you must request your admission through the pre-enrolment process. Each application is evaluated by the program’s academic coordination team to balance the group composition and provide high-quality training.
BAU's master's and postgraduate programs have limited spots. The pre-enrolment process is carried out through admission rounds and remains open until all available spots are completed. Therefore, we recommend applying early to ensure your place in the program.

BAU students and alumni who have completed at least 50% of the credits for the Bachelor's Degree, Higher Degree in Design, or Graphic Design Diploma, or 100% of the credits for a Master’s or Postgraduate program, will receive a 10% discount.
