The Bachelor’ Degree in Design
proposed by Bau, Escola Superior
de Design / UVIC are ascribed
to the branch of Arts
and Humanities.
The total number of ECTS credits
of the studies is 240, divided
into four academic courses of
60 ECTS each. In each academic
year teaching is done in two
semesters. All subjects last
one semester.
The first two courses
of the Bachelor Degree in Design
include the basic and core
subjects to ensure a solid training
in the professional field of design.
In the last two academic years,
students may diversify their
curriculum by training itineraries
that include more specialized
courses with a total of 96 elective
credits. Students who take the
credits of a route will get the
mention in Graphic Design
and Visual Communication
or Audiovisual Design or Fashion
Design or Interior Design.
In the second semester
of the fourth course, there
are scheduled 6 credits
of compulsory external stages
in companies, 6 elective credits
of training activities and 12 credits
of Final Work Degree.
General objectives
of the degree
- To gain an in-depth knowledge
of the most significant economic
and cultural events
in the development of design,
thus enabling the students
to analyse design from
a historical perspective.
- To possess the specific
technical knowledge and skills
required in the pursuit
of their profession.
- To be able to develop
their creativity through learning
the diverse languages of art.
- To gain the knowledge
of business, management
and marketing which is required
to produce and market
their designs.
- To have acquired the necessary
skills for describing, presenting
and communicating their work,
both orally and in writing,
in English as well as
in their native language.
- To be able to carrying out their
profession from a perspective
of awareness of environmental
issues and positive support
for sustainability and respect
for the environment.
- To be creative, innovative
and professional, providing
