BAU School of Design was set up in 1989 by a group of design professionals with a great interest in teaching. From the outset, the school has aimed to help meet the needs of the design sector by creating a higher education centre specialised in training in the field of design.

Thanks to its links with the University of Vic and its recent move to the 22@ district, BAU is now one of Barcelona’s largest and most modern designer training centres. The school offers university courses such as the Bachelor’s Degree in Design (which will soon be standardised for the European Higher Education Area), Design Specialisation Courses (BAU Evening Courses) as well as Master’s Degrees and Postgraduate Courses, to name but a few.

Bau, Escola Superior de Disseny has obtained in 2009 a satisfactory valoration of its institutional evaluation as an assigned center by AQU Catalunya (University Quality Agency of Catalonia).
