Bau School of Design is a university center offering advanced studies in design.
Bau Design School was founded in 1989 due to the initiative of a group of design professionals with a passion for teaching and education.
In 2009, under the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), Bau became a private school affiliated with the University of Vic and is a pioneer in offering university studies in a Bachelor's Degree in Design.
Bau Design School's mission is to train designers who are capable of understanding social, cultural and economic changes which make design a valuable tool in today's world to meet the needs of our society.
Bau Design School is located in district 22@, a neighborhood known for innovation and design in the city of Barcelona, in an industrial building. The 6000m2 space has been restored and outfitted with both specialized and multi-purpose areas to encourage experimentation, creation and innovation.
The educational offerings of Bau Design School consist of Bachelors', Masters' and Postgraduate degrees in different areas of graphic, audiovisual, interior and fashion design. Bau also offers other courses such as an advanced Diploma in Design at “Bau Nit” (evening classes) specialized in Graphic Design and Interior Design, and the Summer University, as well as a variety of other courses.
Bau is home to a sizable and highly qualified group of professors including doctorate holders, degree holders and professionals from different fields related to culture, art and design. They are passionate about design and combine teaching with their professional activities in the sector.
The combination of different degrees studied by almost 1,000 students means that it is a very diverse community which generates a dynamic atmosphere of exchanging ideas.
